The heat transfer through the heated basement and the ground

Results of the accuracy analysis of the approximated methods of calculation specific heat flows from the heated basement through the ground to the exterior. Analysis is based on comparison of the results of specific heat flows through the ground obtained according to the procedures specified in ČSN EN ISO 13370:2009 [2] and according to the method using thermal reduction factors with the results from the accurate calculation in 3D software COMSOL Multiphysics [1].

Investments to energy savings in prefabricated blocks of flats and an increase of prices of heat delivered from district rating systems – a vicious circle?

The paper discuss outputs from mathematic model describing energy balance of district rating system under influence of energy saving measures and local heat sources installations in connected buildings. The results show serious changes of the sold heat / system losses ratio, changes of seasonal heat delivery distribution and resulting increase of heat price. In a case of massive changes on demand side the district heating system could collapse if the heat provider will not change his business model.
